VCI

VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor)
technologies are advanced protection systems designed to prevent metal corrosion during storage and transportation. They work by releasing corrosion-inhibiting molecules into the surrounding environment, forming an invisible protective layer on metal surfaces. This layer blocks moisture, oxygen, and other corrosive agents, helping maintain product integrity without the need for direct-contact coatings. For the most effective protection, it is recommended to combine VCI with desiccants.

TRUGUARD VCI solutions are nitrite-free, compliant with international standards, and available in multiple formats - including films, papers, and specialty packaging - to meet the needs of industries such as automotive, electronics, metalworking, and defense. By preventing rust and surface degradation, VCI solutions help these industries reduce rework, avoid costly downtime, and ensure products meet quality and regulatory requirements.

TRUGUARD VCI products are formulated to be nitrite-free and environmentally responsible. They contain no hazardous residues and are safe for both workers and the environment. Additionally, they eliminate the need for cleaning chemicals or oil-based rust preventatives, reducing overall environmental impact and supporting greener supply chain practices.

VCI films and bags are produced by impregnating low-density polyethylene (LDPE) with vapor corrosion inhibitors. They are available in various forms, including rolls, sheets, bags, and tubing, offering a clean, dry, and user-friendly packaging solution for metal parts and components.

VCI ESD PE (Electrostatic Discharge) products are infused with permanent antistatic additives and vapor corrosion inhibitors. They are specifically designed for sensitive electronic components, circuit boards, and devices that require effective corrosion protection and static control during handling, transportation, and storage.

VCI PE Zip Lock Bags are ideal for packaging components that require frequent access, removal, and resealing. They are also suitable for packing multiple items in a single bag, especially when each item will be used individually over an extended period.

VCI Stretch Film integrates TRUGUARD’s proven corrosion protection with the functionality of stretch film. It is ideal for securing loads, bundling profiles and pipes, protecting machinery and sheet metal coils, or wrapping mesh containers and crates.

TRUGUARD VCI Bubble Film is a dual-action product that provides both corrosion protection and impact resistance. It is particularly useful when protection against dents and scratches is required during shipment and storage.

VCI Kraft Paper. High-strength, durable kraft paper impregnated with vapor corrosion inhibitors. It is ideal for wrapping and interleaving applications, providing reliable protection for steel, iron, aluminum, copper, and other metal parts during storage and transport.

VCI Crepe Paper. A flexible, textured VCI paper offering superior conformability. It is excellent for wrapping metal parts with complex shapes or uneven surfaces, ensuring full coverage and corrosion protection without the need for tape or additional fasteners.

VCI Samua Paper. A cost-effective VCI paper made from 40 g/m² Samua paper. It features VCI coating on one side only and is suitable for basic corrosion protection needs in less demanding conditions.

Polyethylene Laminated VCI Paper. This solution combines high-quality VCI kraft paper with a polyethylene coating to create a moisture barrier. It provides dual-action protection against humidity and corrosion, making it ideal for outdoor storage, overseas shipments, or highly humid environments.

TRUGUARD VCI Tablets are compact, solid, and fast-acting corrosion protection units formulated with concentrated VCI compounds. They provide effective protection for freshly machined metal surfaces and are ideal for small or hard-to-reach areas within enclosures, such as electronic cabinets, pipe interiors, or enclosed sections of large containers.

TRUGUARD VCI Foam offers a practical and efficient solution for enhancing corrosion protection inside packaging. Engineered with high-performance vapor corrosion inhibitors, it is particularly effective in harsh environments where added protection is required. In addition to corrosion prevention, it provides excellent cushioning to prevent mechanical damage during transport and storage, combining two critical protective functions in a single product.

CORR-PACK emitters are designed to protect metal components housed in sealed or non-ventilated enclosures such as control boxes, cabinets, and toolboxes. They release vapor-phase corrosion inhibitors that form a molecular protective layer on internal metal surfaces. Equipped with a breathable Tyvek® membrane, CORR-PACK ensures long-term protection even in harsh environments with exposure to salt, moisture, airborne contaminants, or corrosive gases such as H₂S, SO₂, and NH₃.

VCI Cardboard. Structural corrugated cardboard treated with a VCI formulation, designed to function as both a physical divider and a continuous source of vapor-phase corrosion inhibition. These cardboards prevent direct metal-to-metal contact while providing ongoing protection against rust inside packaging systems.

VCI+DRY. A dual-action solution combining desiccant properties with advanced VCI technology. This product absorbs ambient moisture while simultaneously emitting corrosion-inhibiting vapors, ensuring enhanced protection for sensitive metal parts exposed to fluctuating humidity conditions.

ALPACK VCI Aluminum Package. A multi-layer laminated barrier films that combine aluminum foil with advanced VCI technology. These films provide exceptional moisture resistance and vapor-phase corrosion inhibition, making them ideal for sealing large machinery, equipment, and critical metal parts during long-term storage or overseas transport. The high-strength aluminum structure is flexible, heat-sealable, and customizable to meet specific customer requirements. Available in rolls, sheets, custom bag formats, and tailor-made covers.

WRAP VCI is a high-strength polyethylene shrink film infused with vapor corrosion inhibitors, engineered for protecting metals during indoor storage and extended warehousing periods. Shrink films can be applied using hot-air electric guns, gas burners, or flame torches. Ideal for wrapping irregularly shaped or heavy industrial components, providing both physical protection and vapor-phase corrosion resistance.

FORCED VCI (Raffia Lamination). Kraft or crepe paper reinforced with polypropylene (raffia) lamination and infused with VCI technology. Highly suitable for winding applications on sheet metal and wire rolls, as well as for wrapping heavy items such as steel coils and pipe bundles. Combines durability with effective corrosion protection in demanding industrial environments.

DESOIL Series. A technologically advanced range of protective oils designed to provide effective corrosion protection for all types of metals. Powered by vapor-phase corrosion inhibitor technology, TRUGUARD DESOIL offers extended protection, even in hard-to-reach areas. VCI molecules migrate in vapor form to protect areas where the oil film is thin or absent, delivering comprehensive and long-lasting corrosion resistance.

DESAMIN Series. A water-based VCI corrosion inhibitor concentrate containing organic inhibitors that provide long-term protection even at low concentrations. TRUGUARD DESAMIN works at room temperature, requires no special equipment, and is easy to apply. It is fully water-soluble, biodegradable, and environmentally safe - ideal for sustainable corrosion prevention in metal processing operations.

DESICLEAN Series. A powerful yet safe cleaner formulated for rust removal, degreasing, and surface preparation prior to painting, coating, or storage. TRUGUARD DESICLEAN ensures effective cleaning without compromising worker or environmental safety, supporting operational efficiency in surface treatment processes.

DESICOR Series. A high-performance VCI-based rust remover and surface protector. TRUGUARD DESICOR penetrates deeply with vapor-phase inhibitors to dissolve rust, loosen seized bolts and nuts, and form a moisture-repellent film on metal surfaces. Enriched with molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂), it also provides high-pressure lubrication, making it ideal for maintaining mechanical parts, gears, and heavily loaded equipment surfaces.
